Antico Ristorante Pagnanelli, Castelgandolfo

This marvellous place is not a winery. However it is in our package because of the very special atmosphere of this historic restaurant dating back to 1882. Then as today owned and run by the Mariani family, now by the 4th and 5th generation. The position in Castelgandolfo, famous for being the Pope's summer residence is breathtaking. The beautiful terrace overlooking not only the Castelgandolfo Lake, but also Rome and on clear days the Tirrenic Sea, is simply astonishing.
Not only is this restaurant of very high class, but also active in many fields, and they arrange wine tastings, grappa tastings and even cooking classes.

Our wine tastings are held in the antique cellars being cut into the volcanic rock by the sommelier of the Pagnanelli. The wine tasting consist of 4 of Lazio's very best red wines.This will be followed by a genuine gourmet dinner of many courses, where the vicinity of the ocean shine through. The dinner is thus based on fresh fish and seafood served with the excellent white wines of the Frascati and Castelli Romani area.
