Today more than 60% of the shares are still owned by the Abbona family. The Marchesi di Barolo is today the biggest landowners in the area and exclusively use grapes of own harvest for their wines. The focus on quality is important and the winery has won unnumbered medals and acknowledgements for their wines. To the history belongs that they have restored 5 of the original barrels still in use. The family's own collection of their wines is said to be the biggest collection of Barolo in the world. 35.000 bottles of which some date back to the mid-1800s.
